It wasn’t evident that he was a traitor. He acted like us, dressed like us, spoke like us. I suspected nothing and I’d worked with him for months.
Sadly for him, most lies are exposed by the eyes and, in the end, his betrayed him.
Mine must certainly have betrayed me as well, so great was my shock at the discovery. He would have noticed my surprise, of course, so I pretended to see a wasp. I frantically waved it from his head. He didn’t flinch.
Again, I looked at the eyes.
No reflection.
I pushed his C7 vertebra, turning his power off.
